I think a lot of people are missing what is genuinely positive about what DHH is doing here. Linux has never lacked great technology or brilliant engineers. What it has often lacked on the desktop is someone treating the whole experience as a coherent product: strong opinions, good defaults, UX, hardware support, and now serious long-term funding. A lot of organizations “promote Linux” by explaining why people should use it, while Omarchy is trying to build something that makes people want to use it. Hand on heart, Whether you personally like Omarchy or DHH is almost beside the point. Bringing this much energy, attention, money, and ambition to the Linux desktop is objectively a good thing for the ecosystem. | ||
