A PhD demonstrates the ability to think deeply about something. It thus isn't useless for any good job. However there are often better trainings for that job. | ||

I think it mostly proves how much you're willing to submit yourself to hard, complex, frustrating and unrewarding work. You don't get the PhD just for the thinking. | ||

most jobs don’t require deep thought. in LLM terms low to no reasoning is better than ultra. | ||
