IMO this is old man yelling at clouds mindset, which is fine, but losing battle. Asia went HAM on face filters day one and never turned it off, aesthetics > reality, and that mindet always existed in west but gaining mindshare in new gens. It's just produced art/content at the end of the day, I would say even before if you're not editing raw you're not trying, but now editing is included.
