I think the pro-war crown really takes the military for granted, especially the junior enlisted folks. Either you provide effective leadership (from Washington, DC) or you lose the people on the ground.

If you actually give a damn about the enlisted troops the last thing you're going to be is pro war. The only people eager for war are the psychopaths who don't have to fight it.

Imagine knowing you're being sent into an utterly pointless war of aggression by a Nazi "Secretary of War" who thinks rules of engagement are fake and gay, not to defend American interests or the safety of the American people in any way, but because Israel whispered in someone's ear and they have a pile of kompromat on your pedophile, senile commander in chief.

I'd jump overboard too. At some point being a patriot means realizing your country isn't worth fighting and dying for.

The military better pay attention to this kind of thing. Enlisted recruiting relies on the promise of medium-term gains (schooling, training) but relies on the first few years being better than the alternatives facing the 18-21's. Take that away, throwing in the chance of actually dying will make taking the King's Shilling distasteful. No enlisted, no grunts, nobody to do the scut work.

They're already trying to reduce reliance on various social groups. Losing the remainder will mean those pretty boats and birds will just sit there broken.
