People have announced the implosion of capitalism many times and each time living standards have improved. In a purely correlationary sense, it seems like civilization progresses one capitalistic implosion at a time.

Capitalism prescribes a limited role of government, to protect the rights of private citizens and maintain an orderly environment that facilitates proper functioning of markets.

Hi, Europe chiming in here. We still have proper democracies combined with capitalism, and life is great here.

But hey, if you don't like capitalism, go to some country where they don't have it, like North Korea or Cuba.
