This is just an attempt to pin the blame for Trump's terrible handling of the pandemic on Fauci. I blame NYT for playing into Republican's hand on this one. I also can't figure out why Trump's followers need him to be pure and blameless. The pandemic is over. Trump got reelected despite poor pandemic response. We've gotten rid of our public health departments, so we won't be inconvenienced the next pandemic. We've put "wellness" people who don't have legal or ethical obligations in place to handle medical things. Why make this effort?
