It‘s actually stunning how inhumane this suggestion is. Especially, in the way it‘s made in the purely functional sense of human value as means of productivity and efficiency.

Maybe I‘m missing the joke though.

What say you of warehouse workers? Of restaurant staff? These exist today and are dehumanized in much the same way, but perhaps with lesser effect.

Your choice of the word "solution" was the upsetting part. It implies a problem, and given your solution is "robot bosses tell human servants what to do using headsets," the implied problem is "how can we create a system where robot bosses can direct human servants?"
