Under 16s are banned ... it's a law and it is actionable if things go wrong that involves someone under 16 doing something as a result of social media being extremely negative impact on them or others. At the end of the 10s social media companies here were asked to change / remove some of their shady funnelling algorithms ... they elected not to. There is of course more than one way to skin a cat, problem is now mostly solved. Kids with or without their parents blessings should now be despite a ban look forward to a more positive social media environment ... because despite the meowings, big tech is very much aware what happens if any poor product behaviour lands them in the courts here from now on. Some people, who probably aren't even in Australia will insist the ban did nothing - to that I say, well for starters, it's been months since I've seen any local Aussie content from under 16 idiots uploading a stream to social media to show off their latest stupidity, like stealing a car and going for a joy ride. Honestly I've found it refreshing. Of course if any one disagrees, and has recently spotted one of these crimes, report it pronto :) | ||
