I recommend _The Alabama Solution_ [0]. It goes into good detail how unjust the system is with for-profit prisons. Why let people out of jail when you can pay them pennies on the dollar and make millions of their forced labor? People are denied parole so prisons don't lose their labor. These prisons have no problem starving their prisoners when they strike to get them back out making money for their owners. Slave still exists in the USA. I hope for the day it no longer does. | ||
