Well one interesting thing is that if you want to buy a Toyota Yaris right now in Europe (specifically in Greece) the only options offered are hybrid. One with 116 hp and one with 136 hp. No petrol, no diesel. And only automatic transmission (a no no for me but that another discussion).

Now considering that Yaris is one of the most popular cars (if not the most popular), the increase in sales is not surprising

They Toyota hybrids are still gasoline, what's the objection to the eCVT? So long as we're still using combustion engines it seems like the best design anyone's come up with.

yaris would be the most popular only if you combined yaris cross and yaris together and those are quite different cars, otherwise yaris cross is on 6th place in Europe and ordinary Yaris on 10th, if you are gonna merge them then you should also merge first two places Dacia Sandero and Renault Clio since they share many parts as well

here in Czechia Toyota is fairly popular, but I wouldn't say Yaris is the best selling car model, the top 10 best selling models is absolutely dominated by Skoda, only 3 spots in top 10 made other brands - 6th place Hyundai i30, 9th Toyota Corolla and 10th Hyundai Tucson

btw. my mother has the latest Yaris Cross as well and it's horrible car for the money, the rear seats are unusable for anyone taller with very little space, trunk is very small, usable really only for 2 people, for the money it cost I would much rather bought Hyundai i30 Combi or Dacia Jogger
