People are now starting to turn out for WNBA. Relatability matters, and generational shifts matter. Perhaps a league for retired stars would do well. The older demographics still spend lots of discretionary money, and it could lead to clothing deals and sponsorships if athletes came out of retirement in a new league of on rotation. As Marvel films go to show, reboots with old faces tend to draw in crowds. | ||

I'm not complaining, but many players who are no longer in their prime (Zlatan, Beckham, Messi, Son, etc) come over here to end their careers. When it comes to retired players 50 and above, I question how many of them would want to continue pushing themselves physically, much less how many of them could do so. | ||

The "PGA Tour Champions" ( formally the Senior Tour ) has golf players over 50 and pretty much does what you suggest. | ||
