Nobody in the team is old enough to tell them not to name the system after a villain car... https://youtu.be/CWCTEL-PA08

Very misleading title - it’s an aftermarket security system sold across the U.S., but apparently especially in southern California. The current title incredibly strongly makes it sound like any car bought in California can be hacked (presumably due to some California requirement, which does not actually exist).

Better title would be something like “2M car security systems hackable”

You pay extra for an anti-theft system, turns out it is an unintentional theft system.

That explains the notification that I got from their app a couple days ago.

Just get a Tesla. Has none of these problems.

The issue is Tesla has a Nazi problem. Slate, Scout, or BYD (where available) would be much cheaper.

wait until someone hacks Actually Smart Summon to become Automatic Sneaky Stealing.

(Actually Smart Stealing?)

Did they really call it that? I guess Tesla cars really are ASS in more ways than one!

To make my comment more substantive than simple snark, I have never in my life gotten even remotely motion sick from anything. Boats, cars, carnival rides, you name it, until I rode in a Tesla. That was the first and only time I've ever started feeling motion sick. It's an incredibly poorly designed and manufactured car if it rides so badly it can do that to me.

If it's the Karr system, it's added by dealerships across the country regardless if the buyer wants it or not, and they don't remove it when the buyer declines it. There's supposedly a manual software update that patches it, but it would be better to just remove it entirely.

Another thing is Karr uses unique BT MAC addresses and names that can be used for digital surveillance and stalking.
