I feel like Flock cameras (And other Palantir style incursions on our liberties) are sort of a vaccine - a threat and stressor to see how the public immune system reacts. Because certainly, the technology will keep improving and we're more likely to end up in a complete totalitarian surveillance state if we don't react to this kind of incompetent evil, and are taken completely by surprise by competent evil. I say this for the entirety of the human civilization on the planet, not just the United States. | ||

The public doesn't care as long as the technology is used to catch pedos and terrorists. Which it has to be said the government is pretty good at. Who knows maybe we'll have automated drone strikes on public offenders one day. | ||
