I can't tell if the Flock hysteria is a red herring. I feel like it's a distraction.

There are camera lights all over NYC watching me. Everyone has a Ring camera, don't they sell data to 3rd parties? My cars connected services sells my data to law enforcement, insurance etc.

Edit- I also saw Tucker Carlson do a podcast against Flock. But this guy is in bed with Palantir. Isn't Palantir spying on us also? I'm so confused.

This feels like lets sacrifice Flock so the peasants think we did something about privacy and surveillance even though it's barely a drop in the bucket.

There are many other vendors. Do you know who the CEOs of Axon or Verkada are? Neither do I. They don't seem to comment on every issue.

The assumption that people's problems with Flock don't extend elsewhere is misguided. There's no reason to assume that people are totally okay with Ring and Palantir especially, just that Flock is the most galling of the recent trends towards surveillance that people have been able to very publicly demonstrate the issues of.

People can't fight all battles at once. To fix a trend, things have to start somewhere.
