Show HN: AI Buddy – Free STT and Screenshot Tool for Mac (Requires Gemini)

I created this tool because I honestly didn't want to pay a monthly subscription fee for other apps, and I also needed it to be a bit more reliable and wanted to be able to take screenshots in a particular way that's useful for working with Claude Code.

kudos to you for building this although just curious why can't I use the default mac screenshot tool, I usually use that. cmd + shift + 4

One thing I hate about the default Mac screenshot tool is that once you take a screenshot, it shows up to the right of the screen for about 5 seconds and then it disappears and you'll find it on desktop. So, I was always in a hurry after taking a screenshot to drag the screenshot into my claude code instance so I can use it, so I don't have to go to the open finder and go to desktop. This tool keeps the screenshot to the right of the screen till the user dismisses it, so there's no hurry in dragging and dropping it.

		So another issue related to this is that my desktop is always littered with screenshots. So I have to delete them constantly. I want to save some of them, but I just want to discard over 90%. So this tool saves them in another location, which is not the desktop.
