the grandparent commentor provided examples to illustrate 1 idea. you took one of those examples and showed how it could be used to illustrate another idea. thats fair enough. in your second comment you continued drilling this point without referring to the original topic. hence it seems you aren't interested in the overall conversation, rather whatever point you are trying to make. this behaviour is fairly definitively pedantic so i am not sure why the other guy was silenced for correctly labelling it. you havent explained why it invites collateral damage when one fails to employ perfect examples only illustrating 1 idea each. the only collateral damage i see here arose after you got involved.
