Ummm… maybe by taking less than a 15-50% profit margin? They have A LOT FURTHER to go before ANY landlord starts losing money.

Remember: landlords do not provide housing. They hoard it and then ransom it back to you for far more than it is worth. They are parasites constraining the supply of homes such that not only has purchasing been driven into wholly unaffordable levels, but then you also have no choice but to pay whatever rental rates they demand.
