Are you going to give them cancer first too? This is a horrifying proposal not only on the ethics front but also in the scientific uselessness of it. This is exactly the type of thing that gave the Nazis the bad name they deserve.

Yes but think of the progress. It’s a small price of just modifying rigid social contract slightly. In reality everyone wins. Lawful people get faster cures and medicine. Prisoners get a sentence cut. Even clean their names completely. It’s a great service after all. You are redeemed afterwards. It should be allowed for someone decide to do it if they want. No one forces them to A. Commit crimes B. Undergo experiments. It would just be an option to atone for your wrongdoings and make things right with that sacrifice. It sounds kind of beautiful even. Usually you don’t get such opportunity to make amends after you have done something terrible. You are just stuck in the prison cell for no purpose other than to rot there. It’s wasteful and useless and makes no sense. Allow these people to give back to the humanity what they took away. I would sign it myself. Much better than dwelling in guilt for the rest of your life. Do something good for others. Truly extraordinary deed to sacrifice yourself in this way and the reward is adequate.
