We have to remember that the previous administration, through executive order, with little public announcement, with no vote from congress, and in direct opposition to the will of most American citizens, slashed the power of the Customs and Border Protection agency leading to an influx of 6+ million illegal immigrants, and only took measures to resolve the crisis at the southern border after about three years when the media started covering it. It's safe to say the current administration doesn't have a monopoly on poorly thought out policies.
