KeePass is such a backwards step in usability and features that I don’t even consider it a competitor. The whole reason I moved to 1Password was to get away from how easy it was to accidentally lose data with the KeePass clients.

For example, one client I used had a temporary bug that just lost the notes field entirely. It was quickly fixed but it still affected me.

I’m currently using 1Password, which I still think is the best product overall as I’ve tried just about all the rest. For this product category I’m happy to pay the highest price to get the best product.

Agreed. Having migrated from 1Password to KeePassXC + KeePassDX (Android), I would say the Keepass ecosystem is a fantastic advert for 1Password. I'm not migrating back to 1Password, though.

In KeePassXC, field detection works only about 75% of the time. Detection of the Google TOTP entry fails for example. (I know you can teach it. But having that stored locally on each device is annoying. I've also found the feature itself buggy)

KeePassDX has annoying bugs with Brave (you have to focus away, then back, then you get the autofill option). It's a bit better in Firefox. There's another bug using biometric unlock: it still focuses the database password entry field even though that's not needed, so it brings up the OS keyboard for no reason.

Not to mention the slower Android CPUs compared to your desktop, so you will be very much tempted to reduce the database security settings otherwise decryption is very slow.
