Poking around contract work and it occurred to me that hourly rates are still pre-GenAI. A senior dev/arch with GenAI skills can probably do 20x now. But we’re not going to work for -19x rates. It’s a conundrum. Where do we think salaries and contract rates will go? | ||

If everyone has the same advantage, why would anyone pay more? If you want a higher billing rate, get your business paperwork in order, register as a third party vendor with more prestigious clients, and bill to scale. As a vendor you will make 2-4x the 1099 rates. | ||
