I recently had to help a friend configure Windows on a new laptop she bought. Both of us found the passkey onboarding to be very confusing and it made us nervous. Admittedly, my exposure to Windows hasn't been very large for years now, so I don't know the ins and outs of this stuff, but the problem was stress-inducing enough that we ended up skipping the whole passkey thing entirely.
