Think of this like a car company having a racing program — building stuff like this will pay dividends elsewhere in the company; from product design to production chain. Example - boy, does that gait look uncomfortable to sit through. I can imagine wanting to spend more time on smoothness, careful foot planting, gait variations, etc. after having my R&D guys ride around in it. And with that done, I can imagine better wear cycles and faster, better looking small robots benefiting. I’ll also note that cockpit has been padded.
