End-to-end encrypted RCS messaging rolling out for Android and iPhone users

As much as I like encryption, RCS is a closed protocol and unavailable on open Android distros like LineageOS. Now, people expect it and without it you are disadvantaged in social circles, just like the blue/green bubbles were.

		And you can't use anything but the locked in messaging app if you do use official Android. It's fucked up, this world is turning up the dial on the war against general purpose computing so so so hard.
