Isn’t that just standard practice? It’s a way to make it go away, regardless of whether the claims had merit.

Not a lawyer or any level of expert but I would imagine if that were the case everyone would be filing meritless suits all the time to make their monthly millions. I think there would have to be at least enough merit to get a district attorney or judge to review it and summon people.
