Any mention of the Laffer curve should be taken with a grain of salt... Historically it's always used to push a viewpoint that somehow society would be better if only we didn't tax the people who can most afford to be taxed.

Yep. I also read the whole thing, and feels like its a right-libertarian writing this. And feels like high-brow what I see on my local city's Facebook.

The other problem is what austerity politics brings. Austerity brings fascism and strongman governments.
