Main Question: How has your experience been building on the Cloudflare platform? If you were starting a new project today from scratch, which services would you commit to , and which would you avoid in favor of more traditional cloud service providers (google, aws and azure)? The Context I’m a long-time lurker finally signing up because I’m starting a side project. I have no intention of making this a multi-person business; I’m strictly optimizing for low maintenance, flexibility, and a bit of "fun". In my professional day-to-day, I’m mostly on the front-end but i’ve done bit and pieces in AWS and Azure. However, for this indie venture, I stumbled upon Cloudflare. Workers feels like Lambda but better, and the rest of the ecosystem—D1, R2, sounds good enough for a solo dev. The free tier sounds divine to the point where I suspect I might never actually leave it. But I had this impression before with Lambdas and found a fair share of issues and difficulties with Lambdas in the past. So you never know what you don’t know. My decision drivers for this stack are: • Great free tier. • Workers Performance. • Simplicity: Keep everything under the same provider. Is there a trap I’m not seeing? I’m looking for a critique of this stack before I’m too far in to change course. | ||
