I know the job marker is pretty rough these days, but still, I'm wondering. Is it possible for a western company to hire me, as an African, perhaps remotely? I have been lured by websites like Mercor, etc... offering nice remote work, but I figured out that they mostly wanted my data. Is it possible for me to get hired at all or should I just try entrepreneurship and mainly focus on copying ideas that worked in the western world for the African market?

Canonical (the company that makes Ubuntu Linux) has remote software engineer jobs: https://canonical.com/careers/6707824 Their hiring process is a bit strange compared to other tech companies.
