This is no shade on Phaser, I think they do great work. It’s a really awesome, batteries-included game engine (asset management, input handling, and built-in physics engines like Matter), and I've used it for many of my games with great success.

I do wish they didn’t paywall the visual editor itself, though. It’s similar to Tiled but appears to have far more features. I wouldn’t even mind paying for it if it were a flat fee, but locking it behind a subscription makes it a no-op.
