Two notes that may not be obvious to our american friends - that 3100kwh is annual not monthly, but excludes gas...many UK households consume more energy via gas than elec due to heating.

I've always wanted to know what makes up the cost of electricity in the UK and this is an excellent breakdown, with the website linking to a google sheet containing the data.
