As an aside, I thought the BBC telling it's "journalists" not to call it a kidnapping was the most hilarious thing to come from this: https://www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/2026/01/05/bbc-maduro-v... > “Kidnapping” is an uncomfortable word. It suggests force, illegality and wrongdoing. “Captured” sounds more respectable.
