Yep, but there is a solution. Buy physical media and rip it. You get basically the best quality available _and_ a backup at the same time. You don't have to resort to piracy to avoid streaming services.

		Not all TV shows get a physical media release. Even when they do, it's not uncommon for them to be lower quality than the streaming release. (For example, the streaming release of The Expanse was 4k HDR, but the Blu-Ray release is 1080p SDR.) I expect this will only get worse in the future - physical media is an increasingly niche product.
