| ▲ | Show HN: Trier OS – scan a machine to start a work order (zero keyboard) | |

I built an enterprise operations system over the past month and just released v3.4.0. The core idea is simple: A technician walks up to a machine, scans a QR code, and the work order starts immediately. No typing, no searching, no navigation. Most CMMS/EAM systems require multiple steps just to begin work. In practice, that friction either slows people down or causes bad data. This release adds: - Zero-keyboard scan workflow (barcode/QR → instant WO start) - One-tap finish / transfer / hold with reason codes - Offline-first PWA (local DB + sync) - ~600 Playwright tests covering core system surfaces - Cross-plant analytics, inventory, and OpEx modeling It’s designed specifically for plant environments where: - connectivity isn’t guaranteed - speed matters more than UI complexity - workflows need to match physical movement Repo: https://github.com/DougTrier/trier-os Would appreciate feedback, especially from anyone working in maintenance or industrial systems. | ||
