I have a rescue dog - a 6 year old German Shepherd mix. When we rescued him I couldn't believe how many animals there were at all the shelters and animal control centers, and how hard it was to find out about them. I built a simple site (https://rescueapet.benswork.space) which connects you with available dogs and cats in your area :-) It uses data from local shelters and pulls it all into one place, so you can make a shortlist of animals, then reach out to the shelter to adopt. I was honestly surprised that something like this didn't already exist. Let me know what you think!

Super great! Suggestions: - let the shelters know about this (at least the ones in major cities) and see if they will promote it to their prospective adopters - add functions to restart, go back, mark/save profiles, and review marked profiles (this would have made my latest pet adoption much easier!)

The Tinder swipe mechanic for pet adoption is genuinely clever. Swiping feels low-commitment which is exactly what you want to get people browsing animals they wouldnt normally look at. How are you sourcing the shelter data?
