Show HN: I built a voice AI that responds like a real woman
6 points by shalomer 4 days ago | 14 comments

Most men rehearse hard conversations in their head. Asking someone out, navigating tension, recovering when things get awkward. The rehearsal never works because you're just talking to yourself.

I built vibeCoach : a voice AI where you actually practice these conversations out loud, and the AI responds like a real woman would.

She starts guarded. One-word answers, a little skeptical. If you escalate too fast or try something cheesy, she gets MORE guarded. If you're genuine and read the moment right, she opens up. Just like real life.

Under the hood it's a multi-agent system : multiple AI agents per conversation that hand off to each other as her emotional state shifts. The transitions are seamless. You just hear her tone change.

Voice AI roleplay is a proven B2B category : sales teams use it for call training. I took the same approach and pointed it at the conversation most men actually struggle with.

There's a hard conversation scenario too : she's angry about something you did, she's not hearing logic, and you have to navigate her emotions before you can resolve anything. That one's humbling.

Generalizing like if all men are the exact same and all women are all the same... Btw, not putting any effort in writing your text gives a clear signal.

You're right that every woman is different. The AI doesn't simulate all women, it simulates specific situations. A guarded reaction when a stranger walks up to you, or being angry and not hearing logic in a fight. These are common enough patterns that practicing them is useful, even if not every conversation plays out exactly this way.

This page has facebook pixel. So block that crap on the ublock origin or pihole.

I didn't know having an FB pixel is an issue. why so?

If you have an FB account, they already know all about you. Done. If you don't have a FB account, they still know everything about you. They pay "smartphone" makers to have pre-installed their 4 apps. The app and 3 more hidden services. Since they scan and listen to everyone, someone on your family will have a "phone" that they will upload a pic or listen to voice, so you cannot have privacy. If you don't have a FB account, the pixel fixes some of that. They will know you visit that page and relate this info with all other info. There is always that "smart" guy or gal that takes pictures and uploads it in their "cloud" or sends over Whatsup and they will "AI" those files and save it forever. This is not even a secret. Everybody know this. If you look on the web for the "pixel" you will learn more. But it is impossible to escape. All you can do is to minimize some of that illegal collection of data. Evenn Raynair has the pixel on their checkout page. So try to find out how many pages use their pixel...

Interesting. How do you handle the latency? Voice AI often feels slow for real-time practice, so I'm curious about your optimization.

Wow this is a lot of fun actually!! Very fast moving too. Well executed. Will book mark.

Do give it a try, I genuinely believe in the product.

How did you build it?

shalomer 4 days ago | parent [-]

vapi helped a lot, other items are std stack.

Bit of both honestly. The AI does punish bad reads, escalate too early and she shuts down harder, so you feel the consequence. And you get coaching feedback after each session on what you missed. But yeah, real conversations are still the real test. This is closer to a flight simulator than a replacement.
