Police carry guns and draw because there is a certain class of criminal that own guns and that pretty much don’t care about other people’s lives and would shoot for no reason. And also cops just want to go home and live. We also value the life of a cop more than the life of a member of that certain group of criminals.

By accepting that valuing the life of a cop over a criminal is a good reason for American cops to behave the way they do, what you end up encouraging instead is cops valuing their own lives over those of citizens to a shocking extent.
