Sort of? The taxi cab company posted hours of operation and service area, and reliably provided that service. I've been in Uber dead zones or at quiet times when you just couldn't get a ride. Once I was stuck at a hotel and no drivers were accepting my ride, so I researched and eventually found a cab company in that area that was still operating. I called them, they showed up, and there was no fuss.

		My friend tried to call an Uber recently and got quoted $30. I pulled out my phone and punched in the same ride and was quoted $15. We're sitting next to each other. So I ordered their Uber. Maybe if they'd refreshed they would've got the same offer, who knows.
