But the whole argument was that it's too expensive. If impeccable color matching is too expensive then give me the cheapest button that won't break. Needing the touchscreen to adjust the A/C is more ugly than the worst looking button.

But also that kind of button doesn't need dedicated wires.

		You missed my point entirely. Touchscreen controls are crappy. They're less nice than ugly buttons. (And of course people still buy cars with flaws. An entire car is an amalgamation of so many features that's it's hard to use purchases to measure people's reaction to the vast majority of specific changes. And features like controls often take longer than a test drive to evaluate, too.)
