Screens are able to show you things which give you small short dopamine hits, enough to keep you engaged enough to try get more. This is exactly how addictive drugs, gambling etc all work.

		TV is not 100% curated for your personal tastes based on your previous interactions. It was fine for years because it was a generic service in which everybody was forced to view the same content in the same way. They are very very different things.
