Location: Slovakia (EU, UTC+1) Remote: Yes Willing to relocate: No Technologies: Kotlin, Java, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, SQL Résumé/CV: https://linkly.link/2Wb4u LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michal-svec/ I'm a motivated final year CS student who will be ready for full time employment in 07/2026 so I'm seeking junior/graduate level roles that revolve around backend stuff and where I can learn a lot. I started programming on my own at the age of 15. Since then, I have explored multiple areas, including mobile app development (native and Flutter), web development (React, Next.js, Vue), QA, MLOps, and AI/ML. During this exploration phase, I realized that I want to focus my career on backend development. My experience includes several internships and side projects. In my most recent internship at JetBrains, I worked on the backend for remote Kotlin code compilation. Prior to that, I worked at Dell on the MLOps team, where I gained exposure to DevOps and some cloud technologies. You can check out my resume and GitHub (link included in the resume) for a complete overview of my experience and side projects. Most of my coding experience is in Java and Python. I also really enjoy Kotlin and I am currently learning Go (Golang) by building a simple VPN as a side project. I prefer working with strongly typed languages. For example, I don’t have much experience with Rust or C++ but I’m eager to learn. Feel free to reach out to me via email or connect with me on LinkedIn. My personal details are included in my resume.

Most recent role was building data analytics platform for agricultural customers; previously connectivity/control/update for IoT devices. I think I'm good at understanding and adapting to a new business domain, and enjoy that learning opportunity. I believe we build better software with a better understanding of the context it operates in.Have done & can do full-stack work (helped last company grow from three engineers and through acquisition) but lean towards backend/infrastructure in expertise. Most recently platform technical lead (IC). MEng EE & CS blend. (No professional EE experience, but somewhat maintained as a hobby.) 8y post-intern experience in web software. Looking for something new to sink my teeth into in an organisation with room to grow. Remote opportunities only please, and that I'm eligible for residing in the UK & as a British citizen, though I'm perfectly willing to travel for particular events/big meetings. Cheers!

Pretty boring dude, 14+ years of experience in various areas of engineering. I'm looking to switch jobs only because I intend to move to Europe in ~2.5 years and that's a no-go with my current employer. I'm very interested in science and research. My professional work's covered in my résumé, but that's mostly boring. I've also written a NES emulator [1], an ECS-based Lisp machine/rule engine [2], a self-organizing gossip mesh that learns to play Flappy Bird [3], and ported _Zork_ to Clojure for no good reason [4]. I also started working on a Math/CS educational site late last year to combat a wave of depression [5]. I'm a bit of an odd duck and don't fit what many teams are seeking, but I'm always growing and getting better, usually in the weirdest possible way. If you're interested, I'd love to hear from you. I've programmed in many languages and environments over the years. Some of my current interests are: • Developer experience. I love helping my fellow developers solve problems, and building tools to make their jobs easier and more enjoyable. • Aviation and geographic data. For example, airspace and obstacle data importers for Wing; election results and voter information maps for Google; many interactive maps for other companies. • Hardware interfacing. In a way, I am a "full stack" developer, but my stack may involve a front end to a piece of hardware rather than the cloud. I first got into programming via ham radio, so RF hardware remains an interest. • Designing and building APIs. Too often an API is designed by exposing the internals of whatever system provides the API. My philosophy is the opposite: start with the apps. I like to build a series of sample apps before starting on the API. This way I can imagine what API will make those apps and others like them easy to build. • Talk with users! I don't like to sit in a back room cranking out code. I want to make sure it's the right code for what my users need, and that it's easy to maintain and improve as we learn more about what they want. Open to full time or contract. I look forward to talking with you!

Location: EU Remote: Yes, exclusively Willing to relocate: No Technologies: All web tech, React/React Native/Flutter, JS/TS, Golang, Python, PHP, Lua Résumé/CV: will share via email Email: contractorforhire@fastmail.com You have a Web/Mobile app that's a mess? That needs some love and a responsible maintainer? Or need to migrate an old codebase to something more modern? A web app that's not responsive for a mobile screen and needs some optimizations? Where other programmers find enjoyment in working with new shiny infra/frameworks/tech stacks I find enjoyment and purpose on maintaning stuff, taking care of software that powers current systems and serve real users. No matter how old the tech stack is, today more than ever it is crucial to make software reliable and stable. I maintained and migrated many systems over the years, doing it gradually over short or longer time periods depending on the task, with an eye to quality and with the help of tests. I’m an experienced remote worker, based in the EU. I over communicate and willing to build trust. I’m a contractor and I already have some gigs, I’m currently available for ~20hrs/week at 35/40€/hr depending on the project. A note on AI coding: I know how to best leverage these tools in assisting me BUT I’m the solely responsible for the code I push so you won’t get any slop or vide coded stuff from me. I know when to use these tools, when not and for what.

I've been making computers obey for close to four decades, and after a stint as developing CTO/'Founder' in a startup-like environment I'm on the lookout for something new. With me you'll get risk-averse compliant systems and product development with a taste for elegance tempered by both business know-how and experience with public sector organisations. I'm at my strongest on the backend but have no fear of interfaces. Data wrangling and message passing comes easy for me, and if you want me to I'll learn both new programming languages and complex regulations needed to judge what we can and can't do. A lot of my work experience has been spent on so called legacy code, so that's something I'm good at. Perhaps there are 2 MLOC ticking away on a server that no one has touched in years, perhaps you just bought a competing product and want to chop out the good parts, I'll sit down and fix it and show up on your screen every now and then and tell you how it goes and what it would require to do it faster. You'll also get diagrams and show-and-tells aimed at people with background in non-technical professions, and documentation that smooths the on-boarding of juniors. English is fine, born into swedish, if you pay me while I do it I'll dust off my german or spanish and aim for fluency within a year. At work I'm not as grumpy as I might be when posting off here, I'm actually pretty easy-going and quite solution oriented, as it is required when doing the kind of work for lawyers, the government and profitable B2B customers that I have. If you have financing and would like to build a business doing software due diligence, e.g. towards investors, creditors, bankruptcy lawyers or whatever, then I'd really, really like to come into contact with you. That's what I've been doing the past few years but didn't have the organisation to bring to stable profitability.

So this website is filled mostly with tech founder adjacent users, so my pitch is a bit specific to that market. If you are a startup founder trying to develop a global product, I'm offering country-specific localization (Argentina currently), everything from language and dialect localization, to integration of local methods and support channels to payment/support aggregators. Want to dominate the world? Try bottom up, perfecting a single market, instead of top down, aiming everywhere and seeing what sticks. Why not focus on the US? You can try both for sure, but a smaller country is less competitive and easier to get a big win on (niche domination). You won't make as much money, GDP per capita is about one third of the US, but it's still profit, not VC-backed losses. I work on a small fixed fee + commission basis. The goal is to only hit it big if you do too, and live on rice otherwise. If that's sounds interesting, you can send me an email at localization@tomaszubiri.com, sure, but ideally you can write me a message in this thread directly.
