| Discord and Roblox exempted. This is a joke. |

| To include discord you have to extend it to messaging services.
To include Roblox it should be all online games with chat. |
| |
| ▲ | morshu9001 3 days ago | parent | next [-] | | When I was a kid, online games with chat were a no-no. Most of the ones designed for kids specifically avoided having a chat feature aside from preset phrases, like Toon Town. Then of course by teens, most boys were in the notorious MW2 lobbies. | |

| Absolutely, Roblox should not exist given the problems it caused. Goes well beyond scamming kids to work for scrip. =3 |
| |
| ▲ | daedrdev 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Despite how little they pay their game devs, offering like 20% I think, Roblox itself continues to make a loss so there case that they are scamming their devlopers isn't the strongest | | |
| ▲ | poly2it 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Roblox is making a loss? How is this possible? I've always thought it was perfectly maximined. | | |
| ▲ | daedrdev 3 days ago | parent | next [-] | | Most their users are don’t pay, their services are all hosted by themselves, development of tooling for games and the platform itself is costly, legal issues, etc. | | |
| ▲ | Joel_Mckay 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Must be awkward discussing how "AI" is supposed to solve the Roblox "problems". GTFO, no kid under 16 should be on that platform unsupervised. The feds should have section 7 that firm years ago. =3 | | |
| ▲ | daedrdev 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Roblox is hiring unlike other companies trying to replace everyone with ai. | | |
| ▲ | Joel_Mckay 3 days ago | parent [-] | | You didn't understand why "problems" was in quotes. I refuse to explain that to you, as you are likely still a kid. =3 | | |
| ▲ | daedrdev 2 days ago | parent [-] | | I am not a kid and have a job =3 Just say what you mean already. It’s not somehow better discussion when you hide your point behind layers of misdirection. | | |
| ▲ | Joel_Mckay 2 days ago | parent [-] | | "A chapter 7 bankruptcy terminates the company's operations and takes the company completely out of business." It is essentially a judges forced death-sentence for a corporation. An appropriate solution given Roblox manipulative behavior targeting kids, and a pattern of administrative negligence on the platform. Spend 5 minutes searching, and the history of the platform "problems" is trivially exposed. Kids <16 should not be on there unsupervised, and there are lots of other better-quality games around people can play that offer far less "problems". =3 |

| Discord is voluntarily doing age checks to access NSFW servers now. |

| > This only protects 90% (made up number) of children so it's a joke. |
| |
| ▲ | akersten 3 days ago | parent | next [-] | | To suggest this protects children at all is the real joke. | | |
| ▲ | barbazoo 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Are you saying there is no harm to children, especially girls using social media or are you saying it will not protect enough of them? | | |
| ▲ | akersten 3 days ago | parent [-] | | Correct, in fact I strongly assert the benefit of being able to communicate with a global audience and participate early in the information economy far outweighs any alleged and poorly-articulated harm from the same. | | |
