EV and "driving a computer" are orthogonal chances are that you are driving an ICE computer, with all the problems driving a computer comes with. the EV itself is simpler than ICE is. fewer moving parts, and short supply chains once you actually have the thing. how much complexity goes into making and supplying your gas? | ||

Yeah, modern ICE is a massively complex control system problem, requiring so much more compute than EV, just to meet regulations. Here's a funny example: the fuel vapor recovery system. It stores fuel vapors from the gas tank, that otherwise would have leaked into the air, in a canister of activated carbon. When under appropriate driving/environmental conditions, it opens valves and feeds the vapor into the intake stream, so it's burned.
