The downside of this rule is that vertical scrolling is increased (yes, it's easier, but with a wrap you can make that decision locally) and accessibility is reduced (and monitors are wide, not tall), which is especially an issue when such a style is applied to comments so you can't see all the code in a single screen due to multiple lines of comments in that long formal grammatically correct style

Break accessibility of logic, instead of linearly reading what's going on you have to jump around (though popups could help a bit). While you can use block collapse to hide those helper blocks without losing their locality and then expand only one helper block.
