The article mentions masking's psychological effects a lot, and it's spot on. I masked for most of my life before I was diagnosed with autism in my senior year of high school. I was later diagnosed with C-PTSD because having my feelings invalidated on the grounds that I only had ADHD and should've been able to function fine, it was traumatizing. | ||

cPTSD seems to be very common with autism, there does seem to be a fair amount of support possible to reduce it. | ||
