how did I misstate your position? you say this style is annoying. I say the whole point of this article is style, being an interesting read not just rehashing facts. just like many good books. and I chose a well known book as an example for my point. there was tons of news rehashing facts of what happened (phones banned yadda yadda), why not just read that instead if you want it | ||||||||

Obviously I wouldn't have the same opinion about a classic novel (however flowery prose is a problem in a many novels) as I do about throwaway news "stories" written by a copy writer that wants to make use of their English degree. Pretending someone would (without any evidence to the contrary) is a disingenuous tactic to make people shut-up.
