This is a fairly meaningless, and very much expected stage of EV adoption. EV costs had to come down, that's just a given. They were priced at a premium over ICE vehicles. As production costs lowered and more manufacturers started making the move to EV's, the prices naturally dropped. Meaning an EV that previously cost $100k and now costs $80k would understandably mean the resale value of those $100k earlier models is going to be poor. We're still way too early in the shift to EV's to have a reliable metric of long term resale values, but theres basically nothing to suggest they would be lower than ICE vehicles once people stop believing the utter nonsense being pushed about EV's longevity by a select few. |
