I know I personally would not buy a used EV because I've heard so many horror stories about battery replacements. If EV batteries were commonly designed to be repairable (replace by cell or in smaller banks of cells), I'd be less hesitant. I also suspect there simply aren't many used EVs I'd want right now. I generally "techie" cars with tons of software features, big ol' touch screens, and half-baked self-driving features. I'm still not even comfortable with keyless start on my current vehicle and I hate the adaptive cruise, which I am unable to turn off. For better or worse, EVs seem to always be at the bleeding edge of these kinds of technologies. |
