I’m slightly peeved that Feeding America’s prior system is referred to as “centralized food allocation” when they go on to explain there was essentially no communication between member food banks and Chicago. They go so far as to quote a initially skeptical (but anonymous) socialist who becomes in the end a true believer. This isn’t some triumph of capitalism over socialism, it’s the triumph of basic cybernetics over no system at all.

Project Cybersyn was not much different than the system the market economists landed on.
