I'd be curious to know how that compares to other war zones. Wars always have civilian victims; is this worse?

Wikipedia's article on WW II casualties begins: "Civilian deaths totaled 50–55 million. Military deaths from all causes totaled 21–25 million."

That's about 2:1. The article cites estimates in Gaza of 15:1.

The two conflicts are very different, so I don't know if that's really an apples-to-apples comparison. But that's what my research turned up.

That would be close to an order of magnitude worse. Given the article is about injuries being much worse than would be expected for civilians I suppose sadly that's less surprising given the points the article is making.
