I've been talking the a bunch of tech execs recently in and while they all talk exclusively about AI, they seem to have blinders on to the fact that their staff is using their personal GPT all day long... meanwhile the early messy adopters have already started to pull ahead and get results, mainly in tackling the bottom of backlog pain in the ass tasks, automating ops, SRE, improving safety, DevEx, and more. What's the story in your workplace?

I do that pain in the ass stuff all day. LLMs have barely moved the needle. My days are spent reminding people of the Library of Alexandria standing before us -- code that already exists and suits purpose. Documentation? Automation? Hah. Our economy runs on personal attention and handshakes/jobs.

no one used copilot from corpo, everyone used personal agents, so corpo gave us all the agents. people at the office who have highly personafied their personalized gpts still use them because of their emotional attachment. |
